Corrigan's Vow to the Frontline
We are delighted to announce the #CorrigansVowToTheFrontline initiative in aid of St Vincent de Paul Ireland.
Richard Corrigan is offering a frontline healthcare worker a luxurious wedding at Virginia Park Lodge for up to 160 guests as a thank you for their incredible work.
The application process goes live on Wednesday 27 May and will be open for two months. If you know someone who is engaged and working as a frontline healthcare worker on the Island of Ireland then please let them know of this campaign as well as nominating them. Five entries will be shortlisted at random with the National President of St Vincent de Paul selecting the winner. The more entries per person the better chance of being selected, so please ask friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to nominate! Together we can raise vital funds for the St Vincent de Paul Ireland

Elegant Events by Collette – Wedding Planner
As a planner, typically, Collette would be responsible for the styling of the wedding and the overall look of the day. She would be involved all aspects that are outside the remit of the venue; the ceremony, notification of marriage, selecting celebrants, priests, designing the colour themes for the entire day, advising and consulting with the wedding couple regarding their style and choosing dresses and suits etc. She would also typically attend all stationary meetings and would be available by phone at all times to assist the clients in the run up to the wedding.

Suzanne from Cove Cake Design, who will design and create the wedding cake for up to 150 people – Suzanne is an award winning cake artist for luxury bespoke wedding cake design.
Joeanna Caffrey Flowers will supply the bridal bouquet, bridesmaid’s bouquets, button holes and mothers corsages. She is considered one of the best in the industry.
Norma Jean Hair stylist to the stars the wonderful Norma Jean will look after the Bride and the Bridal party for hair on the wedding day. A bridal trial is also included.
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Entries open from the 27/05/2020 at 9am and close on 28/07/2020 at 9pm.
I. The prize is as stated and is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or credit. Both parties must be over the age of 18, legally able to marry and at least one person of the couple must have been in permanent continuous employment in a frontline healthcare position in Ireland, for at least a six month period prior to entry. The winning healthcare employee will be expected to provide proof of employment by means of photographic ID and letter from employer. The Couple must live in the Republic of Ireland or NI.
II. The wedding date will be mutually agreed and confirmed with the V.P.L Management team subject to availability and following normal resumption of weddings in the R.O.I / N. Ireland.
It is the winning couple’s responsibility to arrange travel and cover travel costs to the supplier’s location. The couple and their wedding guests must be willing to travel to Cavan for the wedding which will take place at Virginia Park Lodge, Cavan, Ireland.
III. We reserve the right to change any specified supplier without permission from the couple, but the total budget will remain the same. The budget is broken down into elements for each supplier.
IV. The couple is required to work within these estimates for each supplier. These elements are available on request. If the couple decides to require goods/services valued at more than the estimate from a supplier(s) then the couple will be requested to make up the difference.
V. Any service not included by Team above will be provided at the winner’s expense and must be reviewed by Virginia Park Lodge before being agreed to, in order to prevent conflicts of interest.
VI. The winners agree to the use of their name, photograph and disclosure of county of residence and will co-operate with any other reasonable requests by V.P.L and the local/national media relating to any post-winning publicity, in any format for promotional and/or editorial purposes, without additional consultation.
VII. Selection Process: We will select 5 finalists at random using the random picker https://commentpicker.com/. Once contacted the 5 finalists will write in under 300 words to tell us about themselves or their nominee and why they should win. The finalist will then be selected by Kieran Stafford (SVP) Winners will be selected and notified by email within 7 days of the closing date and must respond within 72 hours or the management team at V.P.L will select another winner.
VIII. The prize draw is open to all residents of the R.O.I and N. Ireland over the age of 18. Exception being the employees of the companies involved in the prize draw and their associated, affiliated or subsidiary companies, and their families, agents or anyone connected with this prize draw.
IX. The wedding at Virginia Park Lodge is for a maximum of 150 guests. The wedding must be book within the months of low season outlined in Virginia Park Lodges rate cards The Wedding date must be booked by September 2020 and must be held before April 2022
X. Nomination applications are open to friends and family living OUTSIDE the Republic & NI.
XI. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into
XII. By entering the prize draw, all eligible entrants agree to abide by all terms and conditions listed.
XIII. All suppliers hold their own insurance, individual and specified to their business. If you wish to discuss any specific concerns, please speak to the individual supplier to see a copy of their insurance policy.
PRIVACY
To the extent that the performance by the competition providers of their obligations under this Agreement involves the processing of personal data (as defined in the Date Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (as amended, revised or replaced from time to
time) on behalf of the winning couple, the competition providers agree:
a) to process data solely in accordance with the instructions of the competition winners and the terms of this Agreement;
b) to implement and maintain such technical and organisational security measures as may be required
c) to comply with the competition provider’s data security obligations under the DPA and GDPR;
d) to notify the winner or any wedding guest of the winner and obtains its prior written approval to the transfer of personal data to a country or territory outside of the European Economic Area; and to enter into such other written agreement in respect of the processing or transfer of personal data as the competition provider may require.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
LIABILITY
I. None of the Virginia Park Lodge & Supplier Team will be held responsible for injury, loss or damage to persons or property howsoever caused arising from any goods under hire or services provided.
II. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to or will exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by the Virginia Park Lodge & Supplier Team’s negligence.
III. All suppliers hold their own insurance, individual and specified to their business. If you wish to discuss any specific concerns, please speak to the individual supplier to see a copy of their insurance policy.
UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES (FORCE MAJEURE) & CANCELLATION
I. Whilst all suppliers will make every effort to ensure that the service agreed between the above-named suppliers and the winning couple is fully operational and error-free, we cannot guarantee this. Acts of God, events beyond our reasonable control, sudden ill health and adverse weather conditions may affect our ability to deliver the product or service. However, in cases of adverse weather we will remain in contact with the event commissioner in the lead up to the event and, if the event is out of season, we will discuss a contingency plan with the event commissioner. Ultimately, we can accept no responsibility for Acts of God (Force majeure) sudden ill health, adverse weather conditions or any event beyond our reasonable control. And/if any of the Virginia Park Lodge & Supplier Team are prevented from providing the service or product as agreed then they cannot be held accountable, however, agree to do all possible to find a replacement.
II. If an event is due to held be outside, but a sudden change in weather prevent this from occurring, or do not allow a named supplier to provide the set up agreed in service, then the service may have to be moved inside if applicable, no action can be taken against the suppliers in this circumstance.
III. A force majeure event includes any act, event, non-occurrence, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control and includes, in particular (without limitation), the following:
• Strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action; or
• Civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war; or
• Fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic, pandemic or other natural disaster; or
• Impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport; or
• Impossibility of the use of public or private telecommunications networks.
I. Our obligations under these Terms will be suspended when the event occurs and for the period that the Force Majeure Event continues, and we will notify you as soon as is reasonably possible. Any time limits that we are bound by will be extended accordingly. We will inform you when that event is over and extend the time to perform these obligations for the duration of that period. We will take reasonable steps to bring the Force Majeure Event to a close or to find a solution by which our obligations under these Terms can be performed despite the Force Majeure Event.
II. If the winning couple decide to cancel the wedding then any fees already paid by the Virginia Park Lodge & Supplier Team for cost of products etc, may be collected by suppliers, to ensure that no supplier(s) suffer a loss.
III. In the event that the government takes steps to restrict the movement or assembly of people due to any communicable illness, infection or other condition of any kind, our first priority must be public health and safety. Therefore, the Virginia Park Lodge & Supplier Team will not be able to attend your event, if to do so would put us in violation of government issued advice or orders which could invalidate the insurance held. In the event of a postponement of the wedding (only due to restrictions issued by the government) Virginia Park Lodge & Supplier Team will endeavour to change your date of booking where possible to your alternative date. An alternative date cannot be guaranteed and where this cannot be achieved where reasonable steps have been undertaken, the suppliers unable to provide services are indemnified from any claims and all financial responsibility arising for further cost incurred as a result.
IV. If any party of this agreement is advised or instructed to self-isolate due any communicable illness, infection or other condition of any kind then the above conditions apply.
V. It is the responsibility of the winning couple to inform Virginia Park Lodge & Supplier Team if any party of this agreement and/or guest at their event has been informed to self-isolate so appropriate consideration can be taken on how to proceed accordingly.
VI. Any supplier involved reserves the right to withdraw services up to the point of confirmation by the signing of a contract with that supplier. The terms above apply to the competition entry only and any further conditions, specific to the supplier, must be met before their services and inclusion in the event are confirmed. That contract will be binding on both parties as per the conditions of that contract.
VII. Virginia Park Lodge & Supplier Team reserve the right to extend or modify the closing date at our discretion or modify the terms as appropriate at any time as other vendors offer services or circumstances change.
CHANGES TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS
We may from time to time change these Terms and Conditions without giving you notice but we will use our reasonable endeavours to inform you as soon as is reasonably possible of any such change.
SEVERANCE
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held by any competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part the validity of the other provisions of these Terms and Conditions and the remainder of the provision in question shall not be affected thereby.
LAW AND JURISDICTION
These Terms and Conditions, the Contract and the relationship between you and “Virginia Park Lodge” whether contractual or otherwise shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of the Republic and Northern Ireland. Any dispute, controversy or claim shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
